- BullsEye Racing wins 8th Mile Champs.
Kym Oberauer, driving the BullsEye Racing Electronics
/ Ray's Outdoors Camira, took out the 2007 Victorian
8th Mile Championship with a win at the final round
at the Ballarat Dragway on Saturday.
Kym went into the final round with a 20 point lead
over last years champion Bill Waldock. After a 1st round
win over Chris Farrell in his 355 Holden powered Torana,
Kym and Bill met in the semifinal to determine the championship.
The Camira left the line first with a 0.456 reaction
time to a 0.516 and peddled the top end of the track
to take the win with a 6.26 on a 6.19 dial-in.
The final pitted Kym against Super Gas racer Stuart
McBain and his Holden Gemini. Once again it was all
won and lost at the tree, with a .439 reaction time
to McBain's .511 and a top end peddle to make sure there
was no breakout.
"All in all it was a great day", Kym said.
"The Camira performed flawlessly. I was able to
make the necessary adjustments to my dial-in and reaction
times as conditions changed throughout the day thanks
to BullsEye Racing Electronics."
The BullsEye Racing Team will now take a break over
the Christmas period but will be looking forward to
getting back amongst it at the South Coast Raceway "Drags
for Wishes" race meeting to be held on the 2nd
of February, 2008.
